School counselors are educators uniquely trained in child development, learning strategies, self-management and social skills, who understand and promote success for today’s diverse students.
The academy acknowledges individual differences and provides learning support that ensures academic, social and personal development of our students. The school counselor meets such needs through responsive services consisting of strategies and interventions designed to address individual student’s challenges in order to achieve the targeted learning objectives. This specific intervention helps students to acquire knowledge, attitudes and skills needed in academic, social and emotional development, which serve as the foundation for future success.
The school counselor also collaborate with facilitators and parents on early identification and intervention of children’s academic, social and emotional needs, which are essential in removing barriers to learning and developing skills and behaviors critical for academic achievement. The work of the school counselor aligns with the school’s mission to support all students’ academic achievement as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st century.
