Sonia Farms runs a Cluster system farming model

Sonia Farms runs a Cluster system farming model of production and engage 40,000 Smallholder farmers in her yearly commodities production and cultivate averagely 20,000 hectares of farmland to meet the need of her raw materials and also serviced other company.

The cluster system

The model we run is call the cluster system of production of 60/40 where our smallholder farmers produce 60% of our commodities and SONIA FARMS produce 40% of the total product required by the company as Sonia Farms serve as the aggregator

The primary duties

providing Training and Capacity building for Smallholder Farmers, provide production standard control, provide inputs support and buy harvested produce from farmers,

Attending training and learning the company’s standard of production and produce to the company standard, utilize training and inputs support to produce base on the company standards and deliver harvested produce to Sonia Farms to be processed

SONIA FARMS and the Smallholder Farmers works and develop on 6 major commodities (Tomatoes, Chili, Thyme, Maize, Rice and Soybean) with other supportive commodities that are unique to the farming location.

This model helps in total community inclusion, improve rural enterprise development and participation, increase the production and consumption of made in Nigeria products and reduces importation to boost exportation of Nigerian food to grow the GDP.
