Progress
From date of incorporation to 2009.
the products distributed by the company were imported from Asia. While these importation processes were ongoing, the company commenced the building of a mini local manufacturing plant with the aim of producing some of the imported food products in Nigeria. This mini plant is located on 14,800 square meters’ land at Ibafo, Ogun state with an initial installed capacity of 5MT/Hr of tomato paste production.
01
In 2010
the company after acquiring enough capacity and experience commenced full production.
02
In 2012,
the company commenced a heavy expansion project by building another manufacturing plant of over 64,700 square meters at Shagamu, Ogun State. The plant was completed and commissioned for operation in February 2013 and the tomato paste production capacity increased by 7MT/HR for various sachet sizes of 400g, 210g and 70g respectively.
03
In April 2015
the company added more machineries for packing in tins of various sizes (400g, 210g, and 70g). The production capacity of this additional machine is 7MT/Hr for each size.
04
Between 2018 and 2019
we installed additional production line for full production of various kinds of 2.2kg tomato and seasoning cubes. The expected minimum installation capacity is 5MT/HR respectively. This brought factory installed capacity to 240MT per day and operating at 85% utilization as at the end of 2019.
05
The company also built a downloading and PRMS station for compressed natural gas which is to power two heavy duty diesel and gas generators (500KVA each) and two set of boilers. Also, a minimum of 360,000 liters water reservoir was built to take care the factory’s water needs.
As part of the company’s expansion program to vertically integrate backwards from 2020, we acquired over 3,000 hectares of land and commenced the building of an ultra-modern factory and farms in Jigawa state of Nigeria which has the capacity of producing our required major raw material ‘tomato concentrate’. Our estimate is that the backward integrated should be completed two years from date of commencement. While the backward integration exercise in going on, we have further expanded our local production capacity by producing Non-Diary Creamer (Powder Milk) and Spices. As at today, the company directly employs 303 staff and 562 people indirectly and hopes to increase the number of employments by 50% once our backward integration projects (SONIA FARMS) become fully operational
